Rink Final
Consett Park v Wearmouth
Played at Durham last Saturday.

We hasten to congratulate Mr. R. W. Gowland and his colleagues of Consett Park, on their magnificent win, and thereby creating history and honour for the Consett Park Club. The Consett Club have made many brave efforts to capture a County trophy and on three occasions have just failed in the final game for the Pairs.
Now at last success has crowned the efforts of the Club and this time it is the Rink Final Cup which has been won. Our friends have indeed performed most gallantly and fully deserved the congratulations of their fellow members showered upon them on their return home. The final game was indeed a thriller and was closely fought throughout. At the end of the twentyth end the sides were level at 17 shots each and it was the final wood of the Consett Skip, R. W. Gowland, also the final wood of the game, which meant so much, because as the woods already delivered lay round the Jack, it was difficult to say which side was game.
However Wm. Gowland drew a perfect shot and trailed the Jack to obtain three shots and with it, the game for Consett. Well done boys.
