SHIMELD BOWL.
Sherburn Park v Consett Park.
Great Interest was attached to this game between the above clubs which was decided last Thursday evening on the Green at Sherburn Park.
One might call the Sherburn Park club an offshoot of Consett Park for it was at the latter place many of the Sherburn Park players were initiated into the ancient game. With the opening of Sherburn Park by Consett UDC a year or two ago the Consett residents found it more convenient to try thelr skill on the new green. Interest then developed and soon a Club was formed and having already experience down at Blackhill, the members of the new club found many new adherents.
Thus the Sherburn Park Club's one ambition was to beat their mentors, and consequently they looked forward to the Shimeld Bowl to give them that opportunity.
Consett Park however rose to the occasion despite the wet weather and strange green conditions with the result, three rinks out of the four were up at the end of the game and the visitors had a comfortable margin of 21 shots.

The match between the above clubs proved a very exciting affair and for the second Saturday in succession Consett were beaten.
Eden Colliery have the distinction of being the first club to lower Consett Park's colours on the latter's ground this season.
The game proved very close indeed and at the end only one shot separated the teams.
