On 21st June 1929, the Consett Guardian reported on the annual match between Consett Park Bowling Club and Darlington South Park.
BOWLS. CONSETT PARK VERSUS DARLINGTON PARK. The annual match between the above teams took place on Saturday at Consett in ideal weather. Mr. R. Alsop welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Consett team, while Mr. F. Agar, chairman of the Darlington Park Bowls Club suitably responded. The match was eventually won by the visitors by eight shots after an exciting struggle. Scores:-
